The Tomb of the Situla, Trezzo sull’Adda (Milan), second half of 6th to early 5th century BC
The tomb, discovered in 1848 in Trezzo sull’Adda, included several items of great value, pertaining to both males and females.
Among these is a bronze sheet situla decorated with a frieze showing dogs chasing deer and fawns, a representation of the hunt as a typically aristocratic pastime. This type of artifact is characteristic of the Early Iron Age in northern Italy and in the central and eastern Alps.
