Mission

The museum has an archaeological heritage to protect, promote and enhance.
Museological design takes into account the necessity of a scientifically rigorous exposition, together with the issue of the re-contextualisation of the objects within well-defined spaces. This is accompanied by information (captions and descriptive panels) in two languages using concise texts, written in a narrative language free of technical jargon, which is emotionally engaging and supported by images and reconstructions. The task of the museum is to encourage visitors and users of the educational facilities to discover and gain a deeper understanding of our most ancient history.

The museum fulfills its mission through the acquisition of new archaeological exhibits, studies, documentation, design and construction of new exhibition itineraries. It also pursues its goals through communication of its activities, lectures, cultural events such as exhibitions, educational activities (guided tours, workshops), scientific and popular publications, participation in calls for tender - including the preparation of projects aimed at acquiring funds for the restoration and enhancement of the museum, and collaborations with other institutions for the creation of projects related to the development of the archaeological heritage.
